La Laguna III
-
Mixed Media, Collage, acrylic, metal, paper, sand, 100 x 80 cm, 2017
La Laguna III belongs to the "Echo In The Open Window" series.
A painting about the inner echos and memories: sounds of the relaxing city and reflections of the last sun light on windows and facades.
It is not easy to explain what exactly I´m doing by creating the Echo In The Open Window paintings, because I follow my intuition, the inner echos and memories. It seems that I´m looking for a way, a crack between the facades to go deep into what I´m at the same time just building up, one upon the other - to reach a place full of peace.

The Beauty Of Days Gone By
-
Mixed Media, Collage, acrylic, metal, paper, 100 x 80 cm, 2017
The sun has set. Reflections of the last golden light
playing on my window.
I´m waiting.
A cooler brise will come soon.
I´m waiting.
Good things will happen...
The painting The Beauty Of Days Gone By belongs to the "Echo In The Open Window" series.
It is the expression of an inner echo: emotional, acoustic and visual memories and imagination. Like as if you hear through the open window the sounds of life from the outside world:
The wind in the trees or a bird singing, foot steps, soft waves coming and going, motorbikes, someone whisteling. The entire world is there outside and in my mind these acoustic impressions become visible.

Sing Me A Song Of Peace
-
Mixed Media, 100 x 80 cm, 2016
In these times of worldwide insecureness I would like to stay positive.
This were my thoughts and feelings when I started this painting in my common abstract way, just enjoying how structures and colors do weave into each other.
The appearing townscape seemed singing to me and in my imagination I began to walk into the narrow streets (still using paintbrush and spatula) - that´s how all the streets and buildings started growing.

La Laguna I
-
Mixed Media, Collage, acrylic, metal, paper, 100 x 80 cm, 2015
La Laguna I belongs to the "Echo In The Open Window" series.
I painted it in January 2015, initially not planned but suddenly developing at the same time as La Laguna I as a Diptychon.
I was always fascinated by reflections of the last sunlight in the distance, specially on windows and facades. This is pure gold!
The painting La Laguna I is inspired by travelling from North Europe, passing Venice and going further on to Marocco. It´s a memory - much more dreamlike than realistic - which comes out of my inner images.
Using the technique of collage on top of the painted shapes changes its appearance and composition. I like these breakups of the original underlying images because it brings out a special kind of tension or even an exciting risk. -

Behind The Lines I
-
Mixed Media, Collage, acrylic, 100 x 80 cm, 2015
"Behind The LInes I" started as an abstract painting and developed into architectural structures.
From this moment ongoing I planned it as a Diptychon, working at the same time on two canvases with brushes and palette knife: building up masses, scratching it off, again and again, creating in this way slowly what took form and shape as a mysterious "town" with a quite strong arabic aspect, mixed with venetian elements.
The actual feeling is. that I have been there. Was it somewhere in Morokko... or in Italy...or was it a dream?
And does it really matter? -
